ON HOLD - WAITING FOR NEW DATE....

Learn to build your own music controller!

This is a two-day intensive workshop (Crash Course, if you will) that covers all of the basics about building a new musical interface using the Arduino prototyping platform and the graphical programming environments PureData (pd) and Max/MSP.

The first day will cover basic dataflow programming, introducing you to objects, wires and messages.  We'll highlight some of the basic objects and use them to build a basic synthesizer and sampler.  We'll also talk about the similarities and differences between pd and Max.

The second day will cover basic Arduino programming and focus on interfacing the Arduino with various sensors and our pd and Max patches.

At the end of the weekend, you'll will walk away with an instrument that you built, as well as enough know-how to design and build more instruments in the future.

We'll be providing a kit with all of the necessary electronics (the Arduino, all of the sensors, and the "glue" circuitry).  You'll want to bring your laptop, and, if you have one you really love, a soldering iron.

Non-members: $250
Members: $150
